As an instructor, you become an ideal for your students. They are influenced by all that you say or do in the class. Some of the major traits you must harness in yourself are positive attitude, honesty, humour, humility, compassion and personal integrity – these traits should reflect in your class and all that you do. If you are directly doing 300 hour YTT after completion of 200 hour training, practice these traits in your daily schedule so they become your habit because you will soon become a yoga instructor and be a role model to hundreds of people in days to come. The first step in become a good yoga teacher is practicing concentration in your everyday living. Materialism has overloaded us with lust, greed, anger, hatred, jealousy, fear, inertia, depression, prejudice, intolerance, evil company, arrogance, self-sufficiency, desire for name and fame and wealth, curiosity, and hypocrisy that distract us from concentrating our mind or body. If you come with an open mind to ignore these materialistic restrictions, you can learn better, earn lifelong companions, and become an ideal yoga teacher.
